Fair Cape Dairies, in collaboration with SIG Combibloc South Africa and Save a Fishie Foundation, successfully hosted a beach clean-up this past Saturday at Lagoon Beach in Milnerton. The event saw a dedicated group of volunteers and staff members come together to remove 191 kgs of trash from the coastline, making a significant contribution to cleaning of the Lagoon Beach and surrounds.
Daniel Serman, Fair Cape Cares Foundation Trustee, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, "We were thrilled to partner with SIG South Africa and Save a Fishie Foundation for this initiative. It aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and environmental welfare. We believe that clean beaches are essential for a healthy environment and within a Cape Town context is vitally important."
Zoe Prinsloo, Founder of Save a Fishie Foundation, highlighted the devastating effects of marine pollution on marine life. "Every piece of trash left on the beach can harm our oceans and its inhabitants. We are grateful to Fair Cape Dairies and SIG for their support in organizing this event and raising awareness about marine conservation," she added.
To show their appreciation for the volunteers' efforts, Fair Cape Dairies rewarded each participant with a delicious milkshake. This gesture added to the festive and fun atmosphere on the morning. The successful beach clean-up is a testament to the power of collaboration and we look forward to the next opportunity to run this rewarding concept again.
