Let’s all #DrinkPink this October, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

#DrinkPink is a Fair Cape Cares initiative  supporting the work of breast cancer NGOs in Cancer Alliance by donating a percentage of the profit from every bottle of pink-labelled milk sold.

Fair Cape’s contribution to The Cancer Alliance

As a country, South Africa does not have a breast health policy to ensure that the treatment offered to cancer sufferers is of a high standard. To raise awareness of the need for a policy the Fair Cape Cares Foundation supports the Cancer Alliance’s Advocates for Breast Cancer.  Our campaign goes pink in October 2016 and all our Milk bottles have pink labels.

WHY PINK?  

The pink ribbon was adopted as the official symbol of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1992, which was based on the popular red ribbon for AIDS awareness.

The pink ribbon represents hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer.
