On Saturday 18 February 2017, Capetonians from all over the Western Cape hit the beaches, but this time it was for more than just sand castles and swimming between the waves.
IT WAS THE BEACH CLEANUP!!
Operation Smile gathered their team to hit the beaches of Sea Point to help protect our environment by joining the Beach Cleanup, which had the entire Western Cape joining forces to help make our beaches safer for us and the marine life.
The plastic they collected from the beach cleanup will be sent to the recyclers and the money they receive from recycling will be used to help give a child born with a cleft lip/palate a lifetime surgery and a new Smile.
